The primary focus of the physical limnology and meteorology of the McMurdo Dry Valleys. Goals include (1) long term automated lake monitoring (to measuring parameters such as light levels, temperature, ice thickness, continuous lake level and ablation; (2) conduct lake hydrologic balance measurements (lake level and ablation); (3) Measure the movement of surface ice using high precision GPS; (4) Collect sediment and water samples for a suite of geochemical experiments.
