This research aims to deliver objective-based planning and management tools for the McMurdo Dry valleys of Antarctica (MDV). The project’s foundations will be a comprehensive understanding of the resilience and sensitivity of MDV habitats to human impacts and invasive species. This understanding will be gained through rigorous field work, laboratory analyses and ecological modelling. The information will be spatially explicit for direct integration into an interactive GIS framework that will map and predict biodiversity , productivity, and sensitivities ti impact and invasion across the entire MDV region. Specific information will be obtained on the legacy of previous human impacts and effects of remediation.

This is the final season of a multi-year event.
